The 15-year-old, who was killed by obvious shots in Jackson, were not identified as a suspect

Jackson, Miss. (Wlbt)-a 15-year-old is dead after three officers reacted to a shootout behind a house on James Garfield Circle.

As a civil servant, a victim was found dead from obvious gunshot wounds.

According to the captain of Precinct 3, captain Jacquelyn Thomas, the victim was identified as a 15-year-old Zacarius Berry.

The police say that Berry lived in the neighborhood, but he did not live in the house in which he was found.

JPD tells us, Berry has been shot several times.

At this point there is no word about a motif or what the shooting could have caused.

Berry was a middle school student and was supposed to graduate today.

The neighbors say that his teacher came over to bring his certificate just to get the news that he was shot.

This is an active examination.

So far, no suspects have been identified.
