Patel announced the emotional experience on Facebook and wrote: “On May 18 in Arnett, Oklahoma, in front of the most amazing Tornado, Matt Michell got on a knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I think my squeak and jump tells you what my answer was!”

In the video you can hear Michell: “I love you, baby” when Patel hugs him and jumps up and down with excitement. The couple smiles in front of their SUV, with the tornado visibly turning in the distant vortex of the tornado.





Patel, who comes from Canada, told local outlet Klaw that Michell, a native Illinois, has been pursuing Tornados as a guide for temporary tours for six years. Last year she joined one of the tours where she met.

“I should only hunt for two weeks, but Matt asked me to keep me with him and hunt him for an additional week, so I did it!” She remembered. Since then, the couple have chased several storms, including a large tornado in Wyoming.

But none of these adventures comparable to this, both for the scale of the tornado and for the meaning that it now has in their love story. The Koco meteorologist Damon Lane praised the timing and called it “a perfectly time -controlled engagement!”
