Office examined in the middle of the meth scandal

The meter narcotics office and his officials are examined.

Police commissioner Tudravu confirmed this after a meeting with the Minister for the Ioane Naivalurua police work and his constant secretary Berenado Daveta in Suva on Thursday.

Commissioner Tudravu said that the office operations had also been checked.

The investigation and review are carried out to two members of the office, which were charged with the discovery of more than 4.8 kilograms of methamphetamine at NADI International Airport.

“We had discussed in a meeting with myself yesterday, the minister and our new PS and the minister instructed that there was an urgent and immediate review and an internal examination in relation to what happened in particular in this countercher of the Narcotics office,” said Tudravu.

He said the ministry would also put together a new structure for the office and reapvert each contribution under unity.

“You are still under the Fiji police and were in the secondment to the Ministry.

“As things are at the moment, our new PS will quickly set up a structure for you and we agree that we have to apply for your positions as soon as you are determined and people have to apply and they are checked properly.

“This means that all those who are in secondment with the Naroctics Bureau have to return to the Fiji police, and they have to apply together with other police officers.”

Mr. Tudravu confirmed his concerns about the participation of two officers of the office in the recent great drug case in Nadi.

“We were all concerned, the minister, the PS and I, about what happened.

“They are still under the ministry, but as soon as the structure is present and the entire administrative father who is ready to set up the device will advertise the positions.”
