Russia beats Odesa port twice in 24 hours, civilian fatalities increases

The Russian army attacked the Odea region and striking port infrastructure with combat drones early Saturday morning, May 24th.

According to the ODESA regional prosecutor, the strike aimed at the port facilities and is currently being examined as a war crime.

In cooperation with investigators, the public prosecutor document the damage and collect evidence in accordance with part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

This is the second Russian attack on the port of Odea in 24 hours. In the afternoon of May 23, Russia started a rocket attack with two ballistic rockets, which killed a harbor employee and injured eight more, four of them seriously. Later a 71-year-old man was succumbed to his injuries in the hospital on Friday.

On Saturday, the authorities reported that a 41-year-old man also died of wounds that were suffered on the strike, so that the number of fatalities has risen to three since then.

The Russian armed forces started several drone attacks in Ukraine early Friday, May 23, and targeted several regions, including Odesa. Strike drones met the suburbs of the city and damage a private house. Two people were injured.

Explosions were also reported in Odesa City during the drone attack, with social media users finding active air defense in the region.
