Dozens killed in Syria after alleged insult to the Prophet Muhammad

A new wave of sectarian violence is escalated near the Syrian capital with clashes between armed men of the Druse-religioned minority and the state-related armed forces after a suspected insult to the Prophet Muhammad.

Newsweek has contacted the Syrian Prime Minister's office to get a comment. The accused Druse clerician has denied the insult.

Why is it important
