Smith overtakes Kofoid for Williams Grove Score

Mecalisburg, Pa. -Cameron Smith drove the race of his young sprint car career on the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday evening and not only overtook the Invader -Buddy Kofoid once, but also twice a payday worth 8,000 US dollars in the Eash Brothers Tribute race.

In another campaign, the 20-round pass IMCA 305 sprint Main was achieved by Jeff Paulson.

Smith began with the pole of the 25-round-eat tribute for the 410 sprints flanked by Kofoid.

And the polesitter had a good start at the drop of the green to hit Kofoid with the leadership on the front step.

Kofoid kept an eye on the leader early and when the back of the field for Smith entered the picture, he was there to challenge.

The Californian took over the leadership of Smiths No. 75 for the first time in round nine, only to see Smith Muscle at the front with a strain.

But Kofoid was not finished and gave the favor on the 11th tour again before threading himself through the traffic.

A bobble and an almost shoot on the first rotary pillow from Kofoid played in Smith's hands in the 13th round and when the door opened, the talented boy was there to drive through her.

And in round 15 Smith had built more than a second ahead of Kofoid before the only warning flag of the race was in front of him with nine laps.

Smith pulled down the Kackbecher with a clear trace in front of him when Green replaced the yellow before entering the back market in the last round.

But this time Kofoid was not close enough to challenge when Smith took 1.350 seconds to this second career victory.

Troy Wagaman Jr. was third, followed by Nash Ely and TJ Stutts.

Sey sides you pages the quick time over the field 32 cars with a round of 16.736 seconds.

Polesitter Landon Price led the first six rounds of the 305 sprint Main before he broke out and handed over the lead to Jeff Paulson from Honey Brook.

Paulson would lead the rest of the distance to win over Mike Melair, Kasey Weaver, Shelby Kelly and Mike Alleran.

The Fingless Super Sportsman function was postponed up to a later date.

The beginning of the racing program was delayed more than an hour after a rain shower had reached the oval before the released start time.
