Funeral for Lacrosse players of Bay Village, who suffered fatal injuries during the game

Bay Village, Ohio (Woio) – The funeral for the Bay High School in the second year, which died after an injury during a lacrosse game, is set on Saturday morning.

A funeral fair for the 16-year-old Bay Village in the second year will take place on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Raphael in the Dover Center Road.

Hundreds appeared on Friday to show their respect for the three and a half hours of visit to the St. Raphael Catholic Church.

The teenager is buried after the funeral fair in Sunset Memorial Park, says Father Dan Schlegel, who will lead the ceremony.

“Dylan liked to fish and he is buried in Sunset Memorial Park near a pond that is there,” said Father Schlegel. “The family consoles the fact that he is a place where he always loved, and that is near the water.”

Dylan was injured on May 6th when he played at Olmsted Falls High School in Olmsted Falls. Ems transported him from the game to a nearby hospital, where he was taken to a hospital in the city center with a medical helicopter, where he had an emergency operation.

The 16-year-old died in a random way of a blunt craniocervical injury, as the medical examiner decided.

After Dylan's death, the sports director of the Bay Village City School District Matt Spellman canceled the rest of the season for the Lacrosse team of the Bay High School Boys.

“Dylan was a great child. He was a teammate, and it was really important for us to notice that he was not around himself, he was really a team player,” said Father Dr. Dan Schlegel.

On May 8, hundreds gathered to remember Dylan at a prayer service in the St. Raphael Catholic Church.

Lacrosse -sticks were placed outside the Multiple Bay Village Homes as a still sign of support for the memory of Dylan and his family.

Fr. Schlegel says that the healing from such a tragedy will take some time, but in a way it has already started: “Mrs. Veselic (Dylan's mother) went and hugged the young man who had hit the ball – and I know that it was probably very healing for him and maybe even very healing for her.
