HCSO performs 43 arrests in two -day crime

Hillsborough County, Florida – The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) arrested 43 people this week as part of a proactive front to bring the community to safety, officials said.

From Thursday, HCSO carried out the two -day nationwide operation in the eastern section of the district.

The Street Crimes units of all five HCO patrol districts made 43 arrests and, according to a press release from the agency, performed 188 traffic stops and took drugs and illegal firearms from the street.

“Our mission is easy – protect the people in Hillsborough County,” said Chad Chronister, sheriff of Hillsborough. “If individuals threaten the security of our community through ruthless driving, weapons crimes or the trade in fatal narcotics such as fentanyl, our MPs act quickly and determined. These operations send a clear message: security in our neighborhoods is never affected.”

The results of the operation contained:

  • Weapons confiscated: 3
  • Fentanyl: 130.6 grams
  • Cocaine: 3.3 grams
  • Cannabis: 79.1 grams
  • Methamphetamine: 10.8 grams
  • Oxycodon pills: 2.1 grams
  • Spice: 23.4 grams
  • MDMA: 1 gram
  • THC resin oil: 53.2 grams

Some of the arrested suspects were:

  • Dexter Myers, 58, was arrested in the Orient Park on May 22, 2025 due to an active command in connection with violations of his status as a registered sex offender.
  • Maxie Eddins (49) and Jenna Clary (32) were taken into custody on May 22, 2025 after they had fled through a residential area and to the I-4 at high speed. Clary was in possession of more than 127 grams of fentanyl. Eddins, a repeat offender with a well -known story of violations of narcotics, is now being suspended for fleeing law enforcement authorities, incorrect detention and possession of cocaine.
  • Nicolas French, 31, was arrested on May 23, 2025 near the Bloomingdale Avenue and the Hoover Street after a traffic disability. French, a documented MPR gang member and criminal registrant, was found owned by Cannabis sativa resin and drug utensils. He has a criminal story that contains convictions for burglary, large theft, great theft of a motor vehicle, armed burglary and criminal in possession of a firearm. Previously, he was served in the Florida State prison for six years.

“These arrests reflect our commitment to the protection of families and the guarantee of the security of every community that we serve,” said Chron Minister. “Teamwork, intelligent enforcement and relentless follow-through-through we build a safer Hillsborough County each.”

They say time heals all wounds, but this proverb is tested for the deputy Andy Lahera. Lahera is still in the hospital and is still recovering two years after the injury that has changed his life and life of his family members.
