The 11-year-old Yaqeen Hammad, who was killed in an Israeli air raid, had become a Hope of Hope for the displaced and orphaned children of Gaza.

At the age of 11, Yaqeen Hammad was the youngest media activist from Gaza and the youngest volunteer in a local charity. With wisdom far beyond her age, Yaqeen brought hope to places that were shaded by fear.

She lived under siege in the Gaza Strip and managed to achieve tens of thousands through her Instagram videos. Some highlighted the auxiliary efforts for orphans and displaced persons. Others showed their laughter and games with children and distributed gifts with joy.

Many documented the daily struggles of life under tireless bombing Israel. Yaqeens content was proof of resilience – a refusal to be crushed by the genocide of Israel.

But Yaqeen's voice was silenced on Friday evening in Deir Al-Balah. An Israeli air raid hit her neighborhood and killed her under the rubble.

The girl, who once brought comfort and smile, became a different name in a growing list of lives that have lost in Gaza Strip. Her death was the loss of one of the latest and brave voices of the strip.

One of the targeted buildings belonged to the Shreiteh family. Emergency crews later described the consequences as indescribably painful.

Yaqeen often accompanied her older brother Mohamed Hammad, a humanitarian worker, with auxiliary missions. Together they delivered food, clothing and toys to displaced families.

The news of her death triggered an expression of grief in Gaza and social media. Activists, journalists and supporters mourned the loss of a child who was light in one of the darkest periods of Gaza.

“She was a child who should have been at school and should play like children everywhere,” was a tribute.

Yaqeen, born in blockade, grew up under bombing and shaped by trauma, decided more to act than to silence. Her courage gave a sustainable influence on everyone who saw them – a young girl who was going to proceed with a good example.
