Houston Astros receive important injuries from two important players

The Houston Astros tried to find a constant success this season and flirted with a record of 0.500 in the first third of the campaign.

On Saturday with a record of 26-25 on Friday evening, some promising developments brought, although the American Liga-West Seate Mariners had lost.

The team has been without a superstar -Slugger Yordan Alvarez since the beginning of May and without a young starting jug Spencer Arrighetti since the beginning of April. Both players play a major role on the offensive or on the starting trotation, and before the game on Friday, manager Joe Espada delivered some promising updates back to the field.

For Arrighetti, the jug is no longer in a line -up for its broken thumb, but is now wearing a rail. The pitcher suffered the injury by being hit by a line drive, while in April he acted in the outer field during the Batting practice of Mariners.

Espada said reporters that Arrighetti should see the doctor next week and that he expects the pitcher to receive approval for participation in baseball activities. With the approval, Espada continued that Arrighetti can start playing.

While the rotation in Arrighetti's absence was in need, the offensive success for the Astros without Alvarez was difficult to find. While he was on the field this year, he said he had to struggle and said reporters at the beginning of this week that he had to do with hand pain throughout the season.

On Friday, Alvarez took part in a number of basic exercises after ceding a pitching machine into the impact cage. It was another step forward for the racket, which only took soft toss and bullpen throw on Thursday.

“He wants to go in there and do it [hit off the machine] Again to see how it reacts after sitting for an hour … what is great, “said Espada.” I am very satisfied with where he is today. As soon as he tells us that he feels good, we could build it here, but one day after the other and health is number one. But the fact that he went out there today and did what he did is a good sign. ”

Alvarez back onto the field and fully healthy would be a big blessing for a criminal offense that has to fight great this year. The team has only 48 Homeruns through 51 games, 19th in MLB, and an ops of 0.703, 17. Adding a healthy Alvarez back into the mix could improve both metrics in a large way.
