Live updates: Trump's speech in West Point, tariffs and Harvard Legal Battle News

President Donald Trump brought several West Point graduates onto the stage at various points during his speech and emphasized their successes, including a cadet that defeated the record for a strenuous 18.5 mile march and the quarterback of the US army team.

“This class was not only mentally but also physically exchanged. In January last January, when more than 1,000 cadets for an 18.5-mile march voluntarily reported on an icy winter night, Cadet Chris Verd did the task in 2 hours and 30 minutes.

“Where is he?” The president asked and invited Verdugo to join him when the audience roared.

The cadet shook his hand with Trump, smiled and laughed and stepped on the podium on Trump's pushing. “It was five years ago, but I couldn't have done it without one of these boys,” said Verdugo.

Trump also brought Bryson up every day, the quarterback of the Black Knights.

“This year the Black Knights bought nationally into the top 20 and with the help of the final quarters back Cadet Bryson Daily or as they call him, Captain America, achieved their longest winning streak since 1949,” said Trump. “We have to bring him here, right? Come on Bryson.”

Daily said: “Go Army Football” and shook Trump's hand and gave the president a greeting.

Trump gave many other shoutouts during the address, including the Rhodes scholars and the Lacrosse team of men. Trump also called out the first two women in West Point History to complete the school's school and asked them to stand.
