Celtics trainer reveals a major update of injuries to Jayson Tatum

The Boston Celtics were destroyed when Jayson Tatum tore his Achilles in game 4 against the Knicks in the second round of the playoffs.

It not only ended a chance that the Celtics completed a comeback in this series, but also took out most of the time of the next season. He cannot help the team continue to fight for a championship.

Tatum was operated on very quickly after the injury. In fact, the news that he was tearing his Achilles was not out there until he actually had an operation to repair the injury.

Co -coach Sam Cassell offered an update about Tatum's injury when he was in the Pat Bev Podcast. The update should be encouraged for Celtics fans.

“It is good, if he comes back, he can be even better. He can watch the basketball game and work on everything he has to work on. I look forward to the trip with him. Top 5 first team All- (NBA) this year. If he comes back.

Cassell seems optimistic about Tatum's chances of being the same player he was before the injury. This is the kind of injury that sportiness can take away from the players.

Tatum is young enough that he should be able to play again in a great basketball. He is in the bloom of his career, that should also help him.

The biggest problem for the Celtics is how the squad is changing around Tatum. If Tatum goes out most of the next year, the way the Celtics approaches in the low season will change.

Boston believes that it can compete for a title as soon as Tatum comes back. As long as you have both Tatum and Jaylen Brown on the squad, you should get into arguments.

If Brown can somehow put the Celtics into the playoffs next year, you can get Tatum back for the stretch run. That would help the team have a real chance of making some noise.

Last season Tatum scored an average of 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and six assists per game.
