President Donald Trump announced the amendments to his military on Saturday during a speech at the US military academy in West Point, which sometimes resembled a campaign style speech.

“They are the first West Point graduates of the golden age of America,” said Trump and wore his trademark red, “Make America Great again,” said the final class.

“This is the golden age and you will lead the army to peaks of the size that has never reached before,” he added.

During the remarks that exceeded for almost an hour, Trump promoted an “America First” world view and he received the strength of the US military, which he recognized for the strength.

He told the graduates that they “officers in the largest and most powerful army who ever knew the world”.

“And I know because I rebuilt this army and rebuilt the military and we rebuilt it as if nobody had rebuilt it in my first term,” said Trump.

His comments mixed elements of a traditional final speech, such as the council to the students, with aspects that are reminiscent of his campaign speeches of 2024, including criticism of his predecessors.

Trump also used the comments to highlight the achievements of his government.

“The task of the military is to dominate every enemy and to destroy every threat to America, everywhere, anytime and every place,” he said.

“A large part of this order is to be respected again, and they are currently more than any other army in the world,” he continued.

He accused past administrations of sending some US soldiers “about the establishment of the nation of nation to nation to nations who wanted nothing to do with us”.

Trump's statements come because his administration has taken up military academies throughout the country as part of her broader approach in the programs for diversity, equity and inclusion (Dei).

He praised these efforts during his speech. “We have freed our troops from split and humiliating political training,” said Trump.

West Point removed a number of cultural associations, such as the Asian Pacific Forum Club, the Japanese Forum Club and the Latin Cultural Club, after Trump's Executive Order DEI programs were able to remove the military, NBC News.

The Pentagon also instructs military academies, including West Point, to remove books that, according to the New York Times, contain mentions of racism or sexism from their libraries.
