According to South China Morning Post, the Snack wholesaler Miaohuo Net, based in China's Zhengzhou, regularly broadcast his office on a popular short-form video platform. In such a live stream, around 15 employees worked until the weekend.

According to the owner of the company, the surname XING, the streams should prove that the company has a real internal team, not one that outsources the tasks.

“Some companies claim to have a team but actually outsource their work. We want to assure people that we are a legitimate company with a committed team,” Xing told Hongxing News on April 16.

The company, which has shifted from a traditional wholesaler to an internet business led by live streaming last year, says that the idea behind Livestreaming is his office in building up the customer's trust by presenting a “true and transparent” workplace.

Miaohuo Net has 50 employees, although official records from 2023 indicate that only 13 were enrolled in the insurance provided by companies, which were often regarded as a rough indicator of the actual workforce.

Overtime payment for employees

Xing said his company offers all employees a two -day weekend. However, some employees work on the weekend to get overtime numbers. Although the company officially offers two -day weekends, some employees voluntarily opt for overtime to keep the deadlines and are compensated accordingly, he said.

Xing added that employees did not complain about the camera during office hours.

An employee, Surnamed Duan, confirmed that he had no problem with the live stream, although the audience criticized it as an invasion of privacy. “Many people who live on landscape spots when I also visit these places,” he said, adding that corporate services include overtime and annual trips for employees.

Nevertheless, the approach on social media has triggered the rights and privacy of the employees. Critics asked whether employees can really have objections to the shooting of a job in which the performance dynamics can obtain contradiction.
