New York man guilty of hate threats against Dana Nessel

A New York man was guilty of this week to threaten a federal crime for threatening Michigan, Dana Nessel, announced the US lawyer Jerome F. Gorgon Jr. and Cheyvoryea Gibson, special representative for the Detroit Field Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

According to court documents, Nessel released a photo of herself and her girlfriend on October 21, 2023, who had been murdered on this day, on her X account. Together with the photo, Nessel described the faith and the contributions of her friend to the community and expressed grief and shock over the murder. The next day, Kevin Delgado, 40, from Bayside, New York, released an impending answer to Nessel's post.

Delgado is guilty of transferring to the intergovernmental trade. Delgado admitted that he had threatened her because of her religion and her perceived sexual orientation.

“The federal government protects all Americans from threats to violence. Everyone has the same dignity, and our office will work tirelessly to protect them. And the officials have to be free to exercise their office without fear,” said the US lawyer Gorgon.

“Beams are threatened both illegally and unacceptable. Mr. Delgado online's hateful comments were particularly outrageous,” said Cheyvoryea Gibson, who was responsible for the FBI in Michigan. “The FBI will continue to work with our law enforcement partners in order to identify and account for those who are responsible for these dangerous and harmful threats to civil servants who are responsible for the service and protection of our communities.”

Delgado will be convicted on September 22nd by Nancy G. Edmunds, judge of the US district court. He has a maximum prison sentence of up to 5 years.

This case was examined by the FBI. The case is prosecuted by the deputy US lawyer Frances Lee Carlson.
