Padres Insider Kevin Acee delivered the latest update via King and unveiled that the right -handed man slept on his shoulder.

“He experienced shoulder stiffness today,” Acee wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter). “The Padres do not believe that there is a long -term problem, but decided that it is better if King didn't start.”

The lack of King means that the Bullpen will take over the game against the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. The violation of King will definitely put Padres-lovers to the test, since Robert Suarez and Jason Adamn have both consecutive days.

In the meantime, Sean Reynolds, who opened the game for the Padres, threw 42 pitches against the Seattle Mariners last weekend. San Diego will look at Reynolds to be efficient because he can offer the team a certain length.

King has an ERA of 2.59 ERA with 64 strikeouts and 1.024 whip over 10 starts this season. The hope is that the right -hander is not suspended and can return to his next start in good time.

The good news is that the Padres does not seem to be concerned about the shoulder stiffness of King, which means that he will probably only miss the start on Saturday.
