Fatal crash closes to the south of Floridas Turnpike in Davie, say officials, say

A fatal crash brought the traffic to a standstill along Floridas Turnpike in Davie on Saturday afternoon, which, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, led to the closure of all lanes to the south.

The incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. near Mile Marker 53 north of exit 54 for I-595, State Road 84 and US 441. The authorities have not yet released identity, age or gender of the person killed in the crash.

All lanes towards the south were closed when the emergency team reacted, whereby the traffic broke back.

Officials asked the drivers to keep themselves away from the area and use alternative routes while the scene was cleared.

Until Saturday evening, no further details on the cause of the crash or additional injuries had been published.
