The expiring propane tank causes explosion in Addison, damage – NBC Chicago

Houses and cars in Addison are damaged after a propane armored person who was released in a truck caused an explosion.

Around 8:40 a.m. on Saturday the truck drove the Wood Dale Road when it blew into the air and sent shock waves through the neighborhood.

The authorities said it was a Penske Box truck with the leaky propane tank.

The explosion threw windows out of the frame, shattered car and slumped a wall in a nearby house.

“The ultimate truck pushed all the way into my neighbor's house and blown out the wall and hardly missed her husband, who lies on the couch,” said neighbor Rick Foreman.

The Wood Dale Road was closed after the incident and on Sunday afternoon north of the Lake Street in West Suburban Addison.

The Addison Police examined the incident with the Dupage County Bomb Squad and accidentally decided.

According to the police, the driver suffered minor injuries, but no others were reported.

No further updates are available on Sunday evening.
