Red Sox Star -Infield is expected to be missed with quad injuries

When Alex Bregman left the game on Friday with what was originally referred to as the right quad, it was hope that the outstanding information would feel better after a good sleep.

Unfortunately for the Red Sox, which did not happen, and now Bregman could make a long time.

Bregman was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday afternoon after an MRI had confirmed that he had a significant right-wing quad load. Manager Alex Cora said that the injury was like him that he suffered in 2021, which kept him away for 58 games.

“A significant injury, he will do a while,” said Cora after the early game on Saturday. “Hopefully it will be more likely to trust our medical staff sooner than later, but it will be outside for a while.”

Bregman said after the game on Saturday afternoon that he felt fine on Friday evening, but he felt more pain during the course of the night and that it was difficult for him to fall asleep. He said the results of the MRI were disappointing and surprising, but now he has no choice but to concentrate on returning as soon as possible.

“Yes, no doubt, I was very surprised,” said Bregman. “But it is what it is and now I will try to take it every day and to link rehab.”

Bregman has been Boston's most productive all-round player this season and enjoyed the best start of his career. The two-time all-star beat with 11 Home Runs, 35 RBI and an OPS of 0.938 in his first 51 games.

To fill his place on the squad, the Red Sox Marcelo Mayer called the top prospect and handed the first Baseman Triston Casas to the 60-day injury list.
