Woeltz was charged on Saturday before the criminal court in Manhattan.

He is held without a deposit and, according to the district prosecutor's prosecutor, was to hand over his passport.

The businessman claimed that he arrived from Italy to New York on May 6 and went to Woeltz 'apartment, where Woeltz stole his electronic equipment and passport and then called for the businessman's Bitcoin password.

When he refused, Woeltz and another man kept him in captivity for more than two weeks, including shocking him, a weapon held on his head and, according to a criminal complaint, spanned him over the rock lead of the five -story building.

He was tied with electric cables, densely, while his feet were in water, forced with pistols, forced to take cocaine, and, according to the police, threatened that his limbs were cut off with an electric chainsaw.

The abuse continued until the victim escaped on Friday morning.

When the police entered Woeltz's apartment, they reported to Polaroids, who represented the man who was tied, tortured and tied to a chair with an electrical wire, with a weapon that was on his head.

The polaroids were probably used to win money either by the victim or his family in Italy, the police said.

The officials also found weapons and several torture devices in the apartment, according to reports rented for 30,000 to 40,000 US dollars per month.

The police found no other victims in the apartment.

Officials arrested Beatrice Folchi (24) from Manhattan on Saturday for kidnapping and illegal prison terms, which resulted from the incident. Folchi's alleged role or relationship with Woeltz is unclear.

The police are still looking for another male suspect.

The allegations follow a series of specified attacks on crypto investors and managers for access to accounts worth millions of dollars that are closed behind extensive encryption.

The neighbors were shocked by the news about the alleged crimes.

“This is definitely the strangest thing I saw here in my time” The New York Post.

Tully claimed that he had seen a barefoot Woeeltz that was captured in a white bathrobe.

“Usually this is a pretty quiet block,” he said.

“I just can't believe that such things would happen in New York in New York in New York,” Midtown, Kareem Hakemy, told CBS News. “This is our district, our neighborhood. … we have to be careful.”
