In his appointment, Wilson did not argue that there was not enough evidence of the first degree murder convicts, but he questioned supposed mistakes during the process.

One argument was that at the time of the murders he was on methamphetamine and that it should have been a mitigating factor in his conviction.

The Court wrote: “There is little proof of this. All contemporary observations indicate that it was not under the influence.” The court also said that the argument was slightly concerned that the use of methamphetamine could have influenced its memory of the incident.

In the appeal, Wilson also argued that the death penalty should not be used in general.

“After checking Wilson's claims, we confirm the judgments about convictions and punishments, including the death sentences,” concluded the court.

At the time of the conviction, judge Howard McGillin found that Wilson had the choice to commit himself and to save himself the family of the boy of a court procedure, but he decided against it. This was described as a major factor in McGillin's decision to hand over the death penalty.

Wilson remains detained at the Union Correctional Institution in Raiford.
