Ring door bell alarmed woman of the Jet crash while she is thousands of miles away – NBC 7 San Diego

Several Ring video cameras recorded the moments of chaos after a private jet collapsed in a quarter of San Diego Murphy Canyon and killed six people.

Kathryn Shubin has just come back from Japan and is looking forward to unite with her family after hearing from the tragedy that happened directly outside of her house.

Her ring door monitoring camera conquered her neighbor when he desperately knocked on her front door early Thursday morning.

“Wake up! Fire!” he screamed.

You can hear them speak to him through their ring doorbell.

“Hey, can you hear me? Hello?

Kathryn said when she saw the notification on her phone, she immediately knew that something was wrong.

“Nothing in my brain would make sense why the entire neighborhood was on fire,” said Shubin.

In her house there were Kathryn's husband, two children and two dogs.

Kathryn tried to call her husband, but could not reach him.

At that time, she asked a former employee who lived in the neighborhood to look for her family.

“He said everyone is outside, their family is safe, I have to go, but their family is outside. That calmed down because I know that my family was taken into account,” said Shubin.

Her husband later told her that a neighbor gave him a car to evacuate her toddler and four months old from the house while another neighbor helped him go out the dogs to join other displaced families at the Navy Exchange nearby.

When she returns home, Kathryn said that her husband still can't wrap his head around what he saw.

“Oh Inferno, the whole place was an inferno, it looked apocalyptically, really, her brain could not connect what would cause so much destruction in a quiet neighborhood,” said Shubin.

Kathryn said that she was broken with broken heart for the families of the passengers that relatives lost, but she was grateful that nobody was injured on site.

“When he left it, it was fire, but to come back and to see how close we were of the worst, really got into the right perspective how lucky we are,” she said.

Therefore, she plans to hug her loved ones.

Kathryn was able to go home and collect some things, but she is not sure when she and her family can return home.
