Austin Cindric is brutally honest that Roger Penske fires his father in Indycar scandal

Austin Cindric may feel bad that his father Tim was released from the Penske team at the beginning of this week due to a suspected Indycar fraud scandal, but the younger Cindric cannot think about it because he has a job as a driver of the Nascar Cup car from Team Penske.

“Obviously what happens in Indy and I am just as a fan and viewer, but when the family is involved, you have to understand it from both sides.” Austin Cindric told reporters in his first comments on Saturday on Charlotte Motor Speedway.

“From every step since I started the race for the team with the race in 2018, I have the feeling that I am involved between me, my pops and Roger (Penske) and the most, we did a pretty good job to separate personal life and professional life, and I see it as not otherwise.” he added.

While the younger Cindric was professional in his comments, you have to ask yourself what the team dynamics will be in the future, especially if his father has Austin's races – and what could happen if Austin could achieve Victory Lane in a race where his father is.

“Racing can be a cool industry, it can be an incredibly worthwhile industry, and that is not something that I have heavily burdened for this weekend.” Said Austin Cindric. “And for my pops I love my father and that's a kind of everything I have to say.”

It is unclear how long Austin Cindric has his current contract with Team Penske, but he moves forward, even if his father will not be in the team headquarters on Monday morning.

When Penske announced the dismissal of Tim Cindric, Indycar Managing Director Ron Ruzewski and Indycar General Kyle Moyer, he ensured that each of his 400 employees heard the reason directly of himself.

“(Penske) not only spoke to the drivers, he also spoke to every employee in the building and obviously had to speak to many people all week.” Said Austin Cindric. “So his time is quite precious, especially this point in the year and this month and this week.

“Whether you have the situation or not, he is still a busy guy. But he recognizes how important everyone involved is, and obviously there are so many who work so hard to have the success we have as a racing team so that it is not surprising in the slightest.” Cindric noticed.

Austin Cindric's future remains with Team Penske

While speculation about his future with Team Penske will probably remain, Austin Cindric can do nothing else than to concentrate on what he has been doing since his first race: the job at hand to win races and championships. Cindric, who has a victory (Talladega) this year and only two more top 10 placements, approaches the Coca-Cola 600 on the Sunday and the most strenuous race of the season-accurate as in any other race.

“I was professionally in a place other than a week ago.” Said Austin Cindric. “I have the feeling that we have a lot of momentum in our team on the 2 -car at the moment. I have never felt better, I've never had a better start to a season. For me, I only concentrate on the execution.

Cindric thought that they had some very fast racing cars and good opportunities. He noticed that his first three years in the trophy were in meetings with his father for the first time, but that ended at the beginning of this year when his father returned to the Indycar part of Team Penske.
