3 adults, 8-year-old dead after frontal crash

Dickinson County – Four people died in an accident shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday in Dickinson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported on a Hyundai Elantra, which was driven by Dawn Rae Peel (30) in Kansas 4, four miles western Kansas 15 Highway in the east.

The car crossed the center line and hit a Chevy traverse by Adam Gerhart Henely, 23, Salina, frontal.

Peel and 2 passengers in the car, including the 71-year-old Peggy Ann Sutton from Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and an 8-year-old boy from Hermington were declared dead at the scene of the crime and brought to Martin Becker Carlson Funeral Home. A passenger in the SUV, who was identified by Herree Henely von Herringon as a 57-year-old Denise Henely, also died at the scene and was brought to Martin Becker Carlson Funeral Home.

Ems transported an 8-year-old male passenger out of the car and a 14-year-old male passenger from the SUV, both from Herrington to the Wesley Medical Center.

Henely and and a third passenger in the SUV were not transported for treatment. According to the KHP, all eight were properly held back.
