Combating refugees against sexual criminal disagreements that were withdrawn from the authorities after three years

New Bern, Craven County – a refugee who was sought in connection with serious allegations for sex crime, was arrested on the run after three years, confirmed the authorities.

Detective of the New Bern Police Department ceased an investigation in 2022 after sexual crimes against a minor. Their efforts led 26-year-old Jose Angel Alvarado, a Hispanic man, to arrest arrest in connection with the disruptive charges.

Alvarado stood two crime commands, including:

  • Crimes indecent freedoms with a child
  • Crime of legal sexual offenses with a child less than 15 years old

Alvarado had crime commands and an active arrest order for driving with a revoked driver's license.

He fled to Mexico to avoid capture. Despite the efforts of the New Bern Police and the US marshal, he remained hidden and moved between the USA and Mexico for three years.

On April 29, 2025, law enforcement learned that he was again in North Carolina and worked in Emerald Isle. They arrested him without incident.

He is now in the Craven County prison with a bond of 1.25 million dollars.
