Justin Brown, senior by El Dorado Springs

By Chris Parker

The senior of El Dorado Springs, Justin Brown, should be a defending champion.

Everything was done by his junior year to win the 100-meter dash in class 3.

Then the catastrophe met in his Prelim race when Brown tore the Labrum in his hip to end his hopes for a state championship title as a junior and endanger his senior season. He could only start running this season, which was actually expected earlier than originally expected.

“Last year I was preferred and then I was injured. When I was able to walk to the districts last year, but I healed faster than expected,” said Brown. “I started leading the 100th meeting. I am only grateful that I heal God and God God.”

Brown returned with the top seeds and expectations on Saturday to win again.

“I was nervous, but my attitude was that I had to win,” said Brown. “Winning was the only option for me.”

Brown exploded a 10.51 from the blocks to win the 100-meter-dash title of class 3.

It was a moment when he was not sure whether he would ever experience the months of physiotherapy.

“It was a lot of physiotherapy and a lot of time. I started the state last year and it slowly got better and better,” said Brown. “My first time that my hip was pretty bad and I was quite worried. I prayed about it, kept going to PT and always improved me.”

Brown also finished second in the 200-meter fittings board with a time of 21.49. He will run at SBU next season.

El Dorado Springs finished second in the team competition with 42 points.
