2025 Tony Award nominations announced! Buena Vista Social Club, death becomes her and maybe happy end -lead noms | Broadway -Buzz

The nominations of Tony Award 2025, which was announced on May 1 by Sarah Paulson and Wendell Pierce, reflects a Broadway season in which ambition was celebrated in all its forms. At the front with 10 nominations are Buena Vista Social ClubPresent Death becomes her And Maybe happy ending-A trio that represents Cuban music, camp comedy and a gently gently gently science fiction love story.

On the game side, The hills of CaliforniaPresent Purpose And Oh Mary! Earnings recognized for new work Sunset Boulevard, Floyd Collins And Gypsy.

As already announced, this year's Harvey Fierstein ceremony will honor a special Tony Award for lifelong achievements in the theater and Celia Keenan-Bolger with Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award. Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theater is also presented Great achievementsMichael Price, New 42 and the New York public library for the performing arts. Additional special prices will be the musicians of the Buena Vista Social Club Band and the artists behind the illusions and technical effects of Foreign things: the first shadow.

The 78th annual Tony Awards organized by Cynthia Erivo will take place on June 8th in the Radio City Music Hall and will be broadcast on CBS and Paramount+.
