Scooter driver beat, killed by SUV in Orange County, says FHP

Orange County, Fla. -A 49-year-old Orlando man, who drove with a scooter in Orange County, was exceeded by an SUV, according to the Florida Highway Patrol and killed on Saturday evening.

The crash occurred at 9:43 p.m. in the country street road in Avenue C, soldiers said.

According to an FHP crash report, the man from Orlando drove on a Piaggio LX in east in the country road in the outdoor lane and approached the intersection for Avenue C when a 43-year-old Davenport man drove behind an SUV and was also on the road in the outer lane of the country stream road.

When the driver slows down the traffic in front of him, the SUV driver could not watch the scooter, which caused the front of the SUV to hit the back of the scooter, the report says.

According to the FHP, the impact caused the driver out of the scooter. He was declared dead after he was taken to the hospital, the report says. Soldiers believe that he did not wear a helmet during the crash.

The man who drove the SUV was not injured and, according to the report, stayed at the crime scene.

FHP is still investigating.
