Two in a critical condition from a two-vehicle crash on Route 9 in Schodack

New Schannel 13 has learned about an accident with two vehicles, which took place on Sunday morning at 591 US 9 in Schodack and has currently closed part of the street and two people in a critical condition.

The Schodack police said that the crash was taking place in front of the Schodack -Indoor flea market around 10:12 a.m.

There were two inmates in each of the vehicles and one of the vehicles rolled over and captured the inmates inside, the police said.

Officials say that the residents of the Rollover vehicle were brought to a local hospital for treatment and are in a critical condition.

A witness at the crime scene announced Newschannel 13 that this was the fourth accident in this general area.

According to Schodack Police, Route 9 is closed between Route 32 and Peacedale Road in both directions, since emergency crews remain at the scene, but it is expected to be reopened on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the latest.

The police say that the investigation continues and no information about the cause of the crash is known.
