2 women beat and killed by drivers in Bronx and Brooklyn, the police say, the police said

Two women died after they were hit on Saturday evening by drivers in separate accidents in the Bronx and Brooklyn, the police said.

According to the NYPD officials, a 56-year-old Toyota driver hit a 78-year-old woman on the white plains road in East 216th Street north to north around 10:30 p.m.

The woman suffered a heavy head trauma and was taken to the Jacobi hospital, where she was declared dead.

The police said the driver remained on site and there were no arrests. The victim's identity was not published publicly when the NYPD worked to notify her family.

The police also said that a unknown Chevy driver had hit a 32-year-old woman in the Lafayette Avenue and Marcus Garvey Boulevard in Bed-Stuy shortly before midnight.

The woman brought the woman to the Kings County Hospital, where she was declared dead. Her name was not immediately published until her family was notified.

Officials said the driver left the crash site, traveled to the east to the Lafayette Avenue and collided with two parked vehicles. The driver then fled in an unknown direction with her Chevy. The NYPD said there were no arrests.

The police officers show that road death decreased by 20% across the city from May 18 compared to the same period of the previous year. At that time there were 68 deaths this year, compared to 85 in 2024.

This is a developing story based on preliminary information from the police and may be updated.
