Mass shootings in Tennessee Memorial Park is injured by seven

Seven people were injured on Saturday evening with a mass shooting with young people in a park in Jackson, Tennessee.

Newsweek Has contacted the Jackson police to get a comment by e -mail.

The context

The Jackson police authority said that the officers reacted to the shootout in Kate Campbell Park on 2700 North Parkway East at around 8:40 a.m.

“Seven people were injured in the incident, with serious injuries suffered and treated in a local hospital,” said the police authority in a press release.

What to know?

A victim remains critically injured, but stable, the police said in an update that was published on Facebook early Sunday.

Two other victims are in a stable state, the police said, while four more were treated and released because of their injuries.

The weapons archive (GVA), a non -profit research group, defines a mass shooting as four or more people who were shot in a single incident without the shooter.

According to the group, at least 118 mass shootings took place in the United States this year. The incident on Saturday is at least the ninth in Tennessee.

Also on Saturday, four men were injured at a shootout in Savannah, Georgia.

The Savannah police authority said that the officials had answered reports on shots in the 100 block of the W. Congress Street. When the officials arrived, officers found three victims on the sidewalk with severe gunshot wounds. A fourth victim from the scene was taken to the hospital by a third party, the police said.

The Jackson Police Department said in a press release on Facebook: “The investigators are currently on site and carry out interviews with witnesses, process the scene and pursue leads to determine the circumstances in connection with the event.”
