Dodgers Pitching Coach opens the violation of Roki Sasakis

Los Angeles Dodgers Pitching coach Mark Prior spoke about the injury that the rookie pitcher Roki Sasaki landed on the injured list on May 13th.

“Obviously he was disturbed in Japan last year and imposed his head back a little,” said Prior. “I think you have two different ways here. You have overlaid a development path with him that tries to appear at the Major League level, and these things are not easy. We often see it when people come from Triple-A and the little leagues, and they try to develop their development with the big league. You to the point at which he spoke and we are happy that he did it because I think it is something we have to address his general shoulder conditioning and strength.

The Dodgers put Sasaki on the 15-day injured list after he had felt some discomfort in his two previous excursions. The injury is listed as a right shoulder tension.

The injury to the rookies could not have come at a worse time, since the Dodgers were exposed to an injury crisis under their starters. The jugs Clayton Kershaw, Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell were also on the injured list at the time of injury to Sasaki, although Kershaw has returned to the Dodgers.

There is no schedule for Sasaki's return, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he would not throw for a while.

Sasaki has to struggle in MLB and released a 4.72 ERA, although eight starts. He has 24 strike outs through 34.1 Innerings and gave up five runs through four innings, which were presented in his last start before moving to the IL. However, the future is bright for Sasaki because the 23-year-old has shown us insights into his devastating splinters. He also allowed three runs or less in all four starts in April.

The Dodgers will hope for a recovery sooner than later on Sasaki's recovery if they exceed the NL vest and lead the San Francisco Giants two games.
