Tom Brady received a cool reception in the Indy 500.

The former quarterback from New England Patriots appeared on stage to welcome the participants during a ceremony before the race on Sunday, May 25th, and he was immediately hit by Boos by Indianapolis Colts fans.

The 47 -year -old Brady seemed to take the moment in step, smiled and waved the crowd.

The patriots and the Colts have long -term rivalry, with Brady often at the center of the campaign. Brady ended the Indianapolis season four times in the playoffs, according to the bleacher report. The patriots also played against the Colts during the 2014 AFC title game when the notorious “deflategate” appeared.

Brady, who officially retired from the NFL in 2023, currently has a 10-year contract with FOX to work as a sports commentator for the network.

“It was really fun to look these games from the 50 Yard line,” said Brady during an appearance on the Let's go! Podcast in September 2024.

“Although I would much prefer to play in the field because it is much more fun down there. But I don't do it anymore. But only looking from above and seeing how these boys appear, is pretty cool,” he added.

Brady spoke to people later this month and said he enjoyed the appearance.

“Now I'm back to work and I enjoy it, so I have no complaints,” he said. “Just like everyone else, I try to wake up and do my best for the people who are most important to me. And if you commit to the people like me on radio at FOX, I would like to do a great job for you and my teammates there. So my life is pretty full. I'm very happy.”

The seven-time Super Bowl champion now also has a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders-what some could initially be concerned that he is a conflict of interest with his work as a commentator.
