The Winton Lake is open again after a brief closure due to a wastewater trolley for the Memorial Day holiday.

The lake is opened again on all leisure activities, including canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding and fishing.

After the source of contamination had been stopped, the water test found that the E. coli values were among the state and under federal standards, which led to the representative of the public health system of Hamilton County, Greg Kesterman, to raise its previous recommendation to avoid the lake.

“It's okay to boot, fish and create it at the lake,” said Kesterman in a press release. “We still recommend good hand hygiene after water recovery.”

Officials of the Metropolitan Sewer District believe that a sanitary wall line that transports wastewater from houses, about a mile north of Winton Woods, gets into a stream that moved into Lake Winton. Water tests soon found an increased E. coli mirror in the lake.

Great Parks officials followed the recommendations of the health officers after the dismissal “worrying” and exposed all leisure activities on May 20.

Winton Woods is a 2,529 hectare park in Springfield Township and Greenhills north of Cincinnati. The campground with 113 places on the lake that runs through the park.
