Israeli strikes have killed at least 38 people in Gaza in the past 24 hours, say Palestinian officials | Gaza

Israeli strikes in the last 24 hours have killed at least 38 people in Gaza Strip, the health officials in the Palestinian area said and brought the number of fatalities to more than 100 days in less than three days.

An attack on a tent housing in downtown Deir al-Balah killed a mother and her two children, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. Another strike in the Jabaliya area in the north of Gaza killed at least five, including two women and one child, he added.

The spokesman for the civil protection authority, Mahmud Bassal, said some people were still under the ruins, since “civil defense has no search for searches or heavy equipment to raise the rubble to save the wounded and restore the martyrs”.

Two other people, including a woman who was in the seventh month pregnant, were killed in an attack in which tents near the displaced persons near Nuseirira were aimed at in the center of Gaza, said Bassal.

The fatality on Sunday comprises the operational director of civil defense, Ashraf Abu Nar, and his wife, who, according to Bassal, were killed on their house in Nuseirrat during a strike. Local media reports said that in Jabaliya the journalist Hassan Majdi Abu Warda and several family members had been killed by an air raid that used to hit his house a day.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said in a statement that two of his employees, Ibrahim Eid and Ahmad Abu Hilal, were killed on Saturday during a strike against a house in Khan Younis.

“Your murder points to the unbearable number of civilian fatalities in Gaza. The ICRC confirms its urgent call to an armistice and the respect and protection of the civilian population, including medical, humanitarian relief and civil protection personnel,” added the ICRC declaration.

Israel has intensified its air campaign in Gaza in the past few days. On Friday, a strike against Khan Younis destroyed the home of doctors Alaa and Hamdi al-Najjar and killed nine of their ten children.

The Israeli defense staff said on Saturday that they had more than 100 locations in the entire area over the weekend, although the aid agencies had warned that the Palestinian population increased deeper in malnutrition and famine.

For almost three months, Israel blocked food, fuel, medicine and all other supplies by entering Gaza, which worsened a humanitarian crisis for 2.3 million Palestinians.

Under international pressure, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who vowed, said that the entire Gaza Strip was subject to Israeli security until the end of the war that he would alleviate the eleven -week siege of Gaza last week to prevent a “hunger crisis”. Aid agencies and many governments say that there is already a crisis.

A total of 107 auxiliary cars that belong to the United Nations and other auxiliary groups with flour, food, medical devices and medicinal products were broadcast on Thursday in Gaza, said the Israeli military.

The United Nations Secretary General said on Friday that Israel had only authorized for Gaza Strip, which “constitutes a teaspoon of help if a flood of help is necessary” to facilitate the crisis.

“Without quick, reliable, safe and persistent access to help, more people will die-and the long-term consequences for the entire population will be profound,” António Guterres told reporters.

“The entire population of the Gaza Strip is faced with the risk of a famine. The Israeli military offensive increases with cruel death level and destruction.”

Israel accuses Hamas to skim off. The UN and auxiliary groups deny that there has been a significant distraction.

Israel says that it is planning to grasp full control over Gaza and to make it easier to see what it describes as a voluntary migration of a large part of its population, a plan that is rejected by Palestinians and a large part of the international community. Experts say that it would probably violate international law.

Health officers in Gaza said on Sunday that at least 3,785 people had been killed in the area since March 18.

The 19-month offensive of Israel followed the Hamas attacks of October 7, 2023, in which more than 1,200 people, mainly Israeli civilians, were killed.

The Israeli offensive According to the Gaza's Ministry of Health, more than 53,939 Palestinians killed that women and children make up the most dead. It does not provide numbers for the number of civilians or combatants killed.

The offensive has destroyed wide areas in the Gaza and displaced around 90% of the population, often several times.
