Mark Stone von Golden Knights discusses an injury to Edmonton Oilers | Golden knight

Luck finally started to walk Mark Stones.

The captain of Golden Knights played 66 games last season, most of his franchise in his six years. His 67 points were the most with the knights and he influenced his usual influence on defense.

Then Game 3 of his team's playoff series came against the Edmonton Oilers.

Stone's arm collided with Oilers Right Wing Corey Perry's knee in the first period. The 33 -year -old Stone took the rest of the game only two more layers.

He returned for game 4, but was ineffective in a 3-0 loss. His injury remained up to the point that Stone had the 1-0 loss in game 5, which ended the knight's season.

Stone said he felt comfortable to play in game 4, but he didn't feel like him.

“Obviously very disappointing,” said Stone.

Stone did not go through his injury, but it was clear that he was frustrated. Just like he was in the last three seasons when he missed 110 of possible 246 games of the regular season.

Stay healthy

The injury of Stone was not as serious this time as the injured spleen, which missed 26 games in 2023-24. Or as harmful as the back problems that can be suspended in 2021-22 and 39 games in 2022-23 games.

But it was still missed by an elimination game, the stitch.

“I always think that we will go in the long run for a long time from September,” said Stone. “This is the faith in which I have the organization, right?

“It is always disappointing when they are eliminated, regardless of whether it is the first, second, third or fourth round.”

Stone's absence in game 5 was remarkable because he was available for the Knights and Team Canada this season.

In the last seconds of a 4-2 win against the Oilers on November 6, he suffered a muscle process and missed 14 games. Apart from that, Stein was constantly present in the line -up. The only other games he missed in front of the playoffs were the last two competitions of the knights of the regular season after winning the Pacific Division.

Stone also performed in the 4 nations in all four games of the Canadian triumph in February.

“Definitely the hockey that I have been playing for some time,” said Stone. “I think I would still like to be available.”

More to achieve

Stone ended with four goals and eight points in 10 playoff games.

His injury had a clear impact on the knight's crime. They excluded their last two games against the Oilers.

General Manager Kelly McCrimmon said Stone had returned to Edmonton at some point if the Knights had extended the series.

“It is always difficult when you miss a player, especially Stoney, our captain and one of our leaders,” said Center Tomas Hertl. “It is shit to miss players, especially him, especially him. But we still have a well -generous team to help him win for him and give him the chance to play another game. We just couldn't find a way.”

Stone, at the age of two, who remain his contract with the knights, has goals that he is still striving for.

He wants to win another Stanley Cup. He hopes to play 1,000 NHL games even though he is still 294 away.

Stone would also like to play for Team Canada at the Winter Olympics in Italy in 2026.

All he has to do is hope that his luck of injury is always in the right direction.

“I really have played with the best players of all time in my life (for the 4 nations). That was something I will remember forever,” said Stone. “Of course I would like to be in the Olympic team next year. I want to do the Olympic team.

“As far as the personal goals are concerned, it is mainly for me to be available and to be in the best form to help this team.”
