Jaylen Brown injury update: Celtics star considering an operation because of torn meniscus

The star star of Boston Celtics, Jaylen Brown, played a partially torn meniscus in his right knee during the 2025 NBA playoffs and still weighs its options for the injury.

During an interview with Celtics Blog on Sunday, Brown announced that an operation was not excluded.

“I got a lot of doctors with whom I have to be rated – see the potential for surgery compared to the operation. Wait to speak to that [Celtics] Organization, “said Brown.” At the moment it is only calm and recovery. I take a step back from a long season. It was a lot of things mentally. “

While the Celtics did not make a final statement about Brown's knee, there was at least external optimism that he would not need an operation after the recent comments of the President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens.

“He obviously saw our team documents and a few other people, and as he said a few weeks ago, the knee is structurally in a good place,” said Stevens during his press conference at the end of the season on May 19. ”

“The unfortunate part is that we are finished in mid -May, but some of these boys who have some nicks, bruises and other things that will be good to rest.”

Brown began to feel uncomfortable in his knee in March, and later a bone breeding with posterior impact was diagnosed. Ramona Shelburne von Espn reported on May 17 that Brown had actually played a partially torn meniscus.

The Celtics were removed from the playoffs by the New York Knicks in the second round, and injuries and illnesses played a major role. In addition to Brown's Meniskus problem, Jayson Tatum opened his Achilles tendon in game 4, Kristaps Porzingis was nothing with his usual self due to the post-viral syndrome.

In particular, Tatum injury has thrown a large wrench in the present and future of the Celtics. He will be the majority, if not everyone who missed the next season, and it has already been expected to do some shops this summer to tackle their luxury tax problems.

In Tatum's absence, Brown is supposed to lead Celtics next season, but a meniscus surgery could continue to cloud their plans.
