Allegations of the winning selection Skandal Rock Maldives Expo 2025

Serious allegations have appeared that the process of selecting the winners on the Maldives Expo 2025 may have been manipulated.

In an interview with Raajjemv, some participants in the exhibition showed that the awards of the exhibition with the creativity of local companies were not selected fairly and that the awards were “sold”. In addition to the presentation of a large number of food products, a price for the price -resolution segment was also selected that recognizes selected entries.

A young exhibitor who sold ice cream at the event expressed concerns about unfair treatment among the participants and claimed that important information was not fairly shared. He also questioned the integrity of the price procedure and explained that his ice cream was never tried and asked how awards could be judged without trying all entries.

A young exhibitor from Thulhaadhoo also expressed concerns about fairness in the “Handicrafts” category and explained that the price decisions seemed arbitrary and had no transparency. He claimed that the first place was awarded to an association of L. Fonadhoo for a two-footed vase, which was actually manufactured by a Thulhaadhoo craftsman after him that had been paid to produce it. In the meantime, Thulhaadhoos received his own submissions, a five-foot-painted vase and a five-foot four-tin piece, less recognition, with the latter only winning second place.

In view of the fact that this is the Maldives Expo 2025, the exhibitors questioned the extent to which the originality of the products was checked.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu presented gold prices to those who won first place in several categories on the Maldives Expo 2025, and the five most important participants who achieved the highest grades in Expo.

A total of 275 awards were selected and provided. A total of 383 participants took part in the Maldives Expo 2025. This was in 14 categories and 82 subcategories.

The highest number of participants was in the craft sector. Many islands of Haa Dhaalu Atoll to the Laamu Atoll took part in the exhibition. The capital, Malé City and B. Thulhaadhoo had the highest number of entries in the exhibition. Over 3,600 articles were registered using the application forms to participate in the exhibition.

The exhibition as a platform for promoting business innovations and creativity opens up and aims to increase productivity and support the business growth of the Maldives. The event from May 23 to May 31 was officially opened to the public on Friday evening at 8:30 p.m.

The exhibition is organized together by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade in cooperation with the Business Center Corporation (BCC).
