Rumors about fire, gas leaks lead to a stamped-like situation in the Shahjahanpur Hospital-the Print-Ptifeed

Shahjahanpur (Up), May 25th (PTI) Rumors about a fire and gas lick on Sunday evening led to a stormy situation at the state medical college when the employees hurried to panic patients to evacuate patients, said civil servants.

Eyewitnesses claimed that several patients were injured during the excitement, but civil servants contested it. District judge Dharmendra Pratap Singh said that an investigation was instructed to determine the circumstances of the death of a patient with lung disease, although he does not seem to be connected to the incident.

The difficulties started around 5 p.m. when some people in the hospital complained about a gas leak. Singh told PTI that the fear may have been caused by the smell of formalingas, which is used in medical facilities and possibly starts from the operation.

“Our fire and police teams immediately reached the place. No loss of life or injuries was reported,” he said.

Some people also claimed that there was a fire and asked the companions to rush the patients from the hospital, which led to a stormy situation, the officials said.

When asked about the claims of a patient who died during the incident, Singh said that the patient suffers from a lung -related illness and that there was no evidence that combined death with the episode.

He said a committee was formed to examine the cause of the incident and to check the claims in connection with the patient's death.

Director of the Government Medical College Rajesh Kumar told PTI that the smell of Formalin – a chemical for anesthesia and preservation – was discovered near the Operation Theater of the Trauma Center.

“We opened the windows and doors to ventilate the area, and the smell loosened. In the meantime, a rumor spread about oxygen leaks, which caused the panic,” he said.

District Fire Officer Dr. BN Patel said two firefighters had reached college.

“There was nowhere leakage at the Medical College. A fire in a bunch of garbage in the college premises was seen and poured over,” he said. Pti Corr ABN ABN RT
