The authorities react to the shooting of West Gore BLVD near Cameron, CCMH

Lawton, Okla. (KSWO) – West Gore Boulevard was temporarily closed on Sunday evening in response to a shootout near Cameron University and the Comanche County Memorial Hospital.

A spokesman for the Lawton police department confirmed that several units responded to what was sent as an active shootout. However, the authorities confirmed that there was no active protective situation.

One was taken to the hospital after the incident.

The response units included LPD, Comanche County Sheriff's Office, Cameron Campus Police, Lawton Fire Department and Memorial EMS.

The road is closed after the position on W Gore BLVD between the 35th Street and the 27th Street.

LPD calls for everyone who has to access CCMH during this time to use the 35th, 32nd and 31st street NW.
