The ghost of a possible leakage of dangerous chemicals was in Kerala early Monday (May 26, 2025), with at least eight shipping containers from the Kapsien Liberian Flag Freight ship MSC ELSA 3 in Neendakara, Karunagapally and shhathikulangara Beach in the Kollam District.

The revenue and police authorities have advised extreme caution and cordoned off from the places because some containers could contain dangerous and inflammatory materials. SEKHAR curiaose, member of the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority, advised the public to keep a minimum distance of 200 meters away from the beach containers.

The container ship, which had set the course for Kochi von Vizhinjam, was found 38 km southwest of its start -up hep by the increase in heavy weather on the early Sunday.

A dangerous combination of a heavy lake, possible fuselage leak, mechanical failure and possibly unbalanced freight had the ship captured in front of the caps and sink. The coast guard saved the ship crew and comprised up to 21 people from various nationalities, including Russia and the Philippines.

The customs department checked the ship's freight. The sunken ship threw 640 containers, including 12 with dangerous fire material, overboard when it turned.

The Indian National Center for Ocean Information Services (Incois) reported that more containers in the sea grew and threatened a threat to ships and smaller ships, including fishing boats.

The government has warned that more containers could wash more containers in the coming hours on the banks of Kerala, especially Thiruvananthapuram and Alappuzha.
