Analysts: 49 should sign former jets security according to Malik Mustapha injury

San Francisco 49ers fans surprised the news of Malik Mustapha's injury. After completing the NFL design of 2025, Nick Wagoner from ESPN revealed that the security of the team against the Arizona Cardinale had suffered a torn ACL during the team against the Arizona Cardinal. The injury sets its availability for the beginning of the 2025 season in serious doubts.

“Should Mustapha miss time, the 49s need another option alongside Ji'ayir Brown,” said Xie. “The veterans George Odum and Jason Pinnock are probably better suited for situation roles and special teams, while they ask the fifth rookie Marques Sigle to play immediately. As such, this could be a place where San Francisco brings a veteran to help at the start of the season.

“Chuck Clark was on the jets in the last two seasons, so he trusted Robert Saleh's scheme. They had to see Medicals on Clark, since he missed every 2023 with a torn ACL and the end of 2024, and that at the end of 2024 with torn pectoral (which could not yet be signed.

Clark performed in 12 games last season and recorded 69 duels (one for a loss), a sack and two distributed passes per football reference. In each of his last three seasons (2024, 2022, 2021), he also earned a run-defenen note of at least 70.5.

However, his cover ability can raise concerns. The opposite quarterback recorded a passenger rating of 115.2 when he aimed against him last season and completed 12 receptions and four touchdowns for 20 destinations. It is unclear how much of this achievement was due to persistent effects of his injury.

While Mustapha is recovering, Clark could serve as a stop gap for the 49s. And since Robert Saleh's input is probably very stressful in every decision, Clark's familiarity with the program could give him an advantage over other options.
