Gwyneth Keyworth from Death Valley is “desperate” to make a season 2

I play DS Janie Mallowan. In a murder case she meets John Chapel, her all -time hero from her favorite television show. What the best appears first that has ever happened to turn when she realizes that she can't get rid of him …

First with the Janie Hero provider chapel-does this reflect your own experiences with the big Timothy Spall?

Not far away. It's Timothy Spall! When we started, there was a little hero worship. But I had previously worked on stage with his son Rafe [in Aaron Sorkin’s To Kill a Mockingbird adaptation] – He was so nice, so I thought his father would probably be nice too. And I wasn't disappointed!

Did you hope that the continued-could this become one of these long-standing detective partnerships such as Morse and Lewis?

I really hope so. Nothing has been told to me yet. But I would definitely do it. It would be an absolute pleasure to hang up again with Tim.

Death Valley is full of thriller secrets – but it is also a very Welsh story. Was that part of the appointment for you?

Definitely. It shows Wales in all its scope and diversity. But I also think that Wales has a really good sense of humor for itself. We all saw the Gavin & Stacey Christmas Special! And as a Welsh speaker, it is nice to be able to speak a little Welsh in the show.

Are you ever worried that it is a stereotypical or tokenistic?

There is a clear concern. I went for things before I was clearly written in Wales, who were clearly written by people who do not come from Wales. Suddenly everyone is in a choir, nobody has a degree and we are all in a mine.

And it is discouraging because they know that there is so much liveliness and diversity in Wales. This is great – we show a lively, modern version of Wales in prime time.
