This live stream from Baby Bald Eagles is the only thing that keeps me healthy now

The Internet is an unpleasant place, full of dark headlines, misinformation and content on social media so that they feel ugly and unsuccessfully. But there are also good parts.

Take Jackie and Shadow, a happy couple who lives in a house with a breathtaking view of Big Bear Lake in San Bernardino County, California. They currently have two children, Sunny and Gizmo, who are preparing to leave the house and make their own way in the world. In many ways, they are the purest embodiment of modern American dream: reality stars and also Kahle Eagles.

The family has been in front of the camera since October 2015 when Big Bear Valley (FOBBV )'s non-profit group friends started a live current of the nest. For years, fans have seen how the Eagles meals (mostly fish) share, relax and annoy each other. Sometimes Shadow Nips in Jackie's cock or wing, “to get an answer out of her,” says Sandy Steers, the managing director of FOBBV. “It's funny.”

The Eagle Cam was the idea of the control. She started watching the Nest years ago, even though she was still occupied by Jackie's parents Ricky and Lucy. “I had to watch Jackie grown through a mockery, and it really stimulated me,” she says.

Over the years, the figures of the feed have risen like a majestic prey bird. The YouTube page has more than 638,000 subscribers, and while I write that, 46,000 people watch me. Several news agencies have referred to the Eagles as “celebrities”. And there is Merch: FOBBV sells Shadow and Jackie -Plüsch (30 US dollars), wearing bags (20 US dollars) and sweatshirts (45 US dollars).

“I think what attracts people is that nature is fascinating and most of us didn't really have the chance to sit and study them,” says Steers. “It connects people with themselves and their feelings.”

The emotions that trigger these eagles seem to be pleasant. In addition to the birds, the page contains another miracle of the natural world: a healthy comment area.

“Love yourself, Jackie, shadow, sunny and Gizmo, you are in my heart forever!” A fan writes in the live chat.

“What brings me through the day is to see this beautiful family thriving,” writes another.

Because of their personality, the Eagles inspire such a brisk adoration, says Steers. “Jackie is serious and she is absolutely the boss,” she explains. “Shadow knows all the rules of Jackie and at the same time he is independent.”

The love of Jackie and Shadow is Romcom's stuff. After Rick and Lucy left, Jackie occupied two chicks in 2018, but only one survived. Another eagle appeared this summer – a charming, mischievous and stubborn young man who started hanging around in the nest and not going, no matter how much Mr. B grabbed him. Finally Mr. B gave up and went.

Don't you take care of life? “For the most part, but apparently not always,” says Steers.

Now the family is largely initiated. Sunny and Gizmo are the fifth and sixth descendants of the couple. The Eagle Protocol, which is operated by FOBBV members and publishes regular updates to the Nest, confirms that Gizmo is a girl that is based on her overall size, behavior and “obsession with food”. The jury is still on Sunny's sex, but the group hopes to have more clarity in the next few days.

At eleven weeks, the Eaglets are almost ready to fly, and a “Fedge clock” is in progress because the fans are looking forward to bringing them to the sky.

“You don't quite look ready for me,” says Steers. “But maybe only I hope that I hope you stay longer.”

I heard from the Eagle Cam years ago years ago, and since Gizmo and Sunny had slipped for the first time in March (both fish), I opened the live stream on my computer on a tab. Between work tasks I click over to see how my feathered friends are doing. It has become a happy break for me.

I saw how Sunny and Gizmo made of tiny balls made of gray fuzz in large glorious raptors with razor flaring whirling and claws grow. I saw Jackie fed the tiny pieces of fish with the Eaglets and saw how Gizmo hopped in the air and practice flying (“we call it 'wings',” says Steers).

Sometimes the feed is quiet – maybe the children and jackie and shadow hunt. I enjoy the serenity of the trees, which also fluctuate in the wind and the glitter of the lake. As Steers wrote in a recent article in the Eagle Protocol: “Sometimes a calm, attentive, appreciative, loving day is simply important for all beings for all beings.”
