Police: Mann was supposedly shot and killed in the murder suicide

A man supposedly shot his wife before he drove through the city to shoot his girlfriend and, according to the Dalton Police Department, turned the weapon on himself last week.

The 35 -year -old Rebeca Akins was found dead in her apartment on Friday evening by Dalton's police after colleagues reported that, according to a press release from the police department, they had not been seen or heard in several days.

After Akins was found on the head with an obvious firing wound, the investigators acquired the surveillance material that shows how her husband, 37-year-old Kevin Akins, left the apartment early Wednesday. His car was found during the examination on Friday evening in the parking lot of the apartments in Shadow Lane.

The police were waiting for a search order to enter an apartment in the Shadow Lane when the father of Cindel Rhoden called 911 and reported that he had found his daughter and a man in her apartment. According to the publication, Rhoden was Kevin Akins' girlfriend. The investigators secured the scene and preliminary information showed that Kevin Akins allegedly shot Rhoden before killing themselves.

According to a gofundme started by Rhoden's family, Rhoden had two daughters and was with a little boy in fifth month pregnant when she died.
