A collision with the horses pulled

On Monday, May 26th, two horse-drawn carriages rammed in front of 60th Street & East Drive Marker in Central Park in New York City and the hospital, with the two carriage operators being hospitalized.

According to an explanation that was achieved by people from the New York police department, one of the horses was scared and ran west towards 5th Avenue. The second horse was also frightened and ran north at the end of the 60th Street.

Both car operators “suffered minor injuries to regain control of the horses” according to the explanation. “Ems transports both people to local hospitals.”

There are no reports on whether there were passengers in the carriages at the time of the incident. According to ABC News, the horses had no serious injuries and later worked again at the southern end of Central Park in the evening.

Although many city visitors enjoy dragged carriage rides in NYC, animal representative groups such as Nyclass cite this incident to support an urban ban on horses.

The Animal Legal Defense Fund, an organization that aims to enforce stronger anti-grouse laws and the humane treatment of animals, has also prompted calls to end the use of horses in tourism work.

In 2022, the organization applied to ban the carriages in NYC after an older horse named Ryder collapsed on the street due to the overwhelming summer heat. An annoying video of the incident spread quickly and led the Animal League defense fund to send a petition and a letter to the New York city council.

“Tragic results for horses follow the history of New York City and other cities across the country,” says the letter. “Horses, carriage passengers, pedestrians, cyclists and others are at risk of this cruel and ruthless industry. We say: no longer.”

Together with hundreds of others, the petition was also signed with remarkable names, including Billie Eilish, her brother Finneas, Kaley Cuoco, Noah Cyrus, Joan Jett, Kesha, Joaquin Phoenix, Sarah Silverman, Christian Siriano, Hilary Swank, Justin Theroux and Marisaa.

Ryder died just two months after his collapse. He was about 30 years old.

“We are destroyed that Ryder has died. His terrible breakdown after years of abuse, who inspired tens of thousands of people from all over the world, to disturb the cruelty of the carriage horse branchs,” said Edita Birnkrant, managing director of New Yorker for clean, viable and safe roads.

“But do not make a mistake: This tragedy was not caused by an act of God's death was the result of wild cruelty and greed. In order to make a profit, the industry industry had literally worked Ryder until death if it had not been exposed from viral videos, and the people who unmasked their endless lies and their cover-up.
