Kayson Flower's death: Mahnwache planned for a 2-month-old Chicago boy who died of child abuse

A South Side Community will gather on Tuesday evening to remember the 2 -month -old Kayson Flowers, the last month died after the family has returned to his mother who no longer reacted.

What we know:

The Chicago police said they were made aware of the situation at the end of April after the baby was no longer responded in a house in a house in the 200 Block of West 106th Street. The child was brought to the Roseland Hospital by family members, where it was declared dead.

Cook County's medical examiner later found that Kayson died of several injuries related to child abuse. His death was ruled as a murder.

According to Roseland Christian Ministries, Kayson's mother Kayla Flowers allowed her son to spend a week with his father a week from April 19. When the father returned the baby on April 28, he said that Kayson slept in his car seat/stroller.

Soon afterwards, Kayla reported that her son did not sleep, but not reacting – black and blue. Detective later said that the Kayson family was dead for six to eight hours before he had returned.

Roseland Christian Ministries, where Kayson and his family were members, organizes the vigil on Tuesday to request his life in honor and justice. It will take place in Roseland Christian Ministries from 5 p.m.
