Nestlé under fire when the sale of Perrier collapses in the water scandal

Nestlé is looking forward to increasing pressure because Perrier Water's turnover has a standstill, while a top -class environmental process has been postponed against the Swiss company in the growing public examination.

Perrier, once the sparkling jewel in Nestlé's water crown in bottles, feel the sting of a large consumer.

After revelations of the misconduct of the environment by Nestlé waters, Perrier's turnover has reached a sharp dive since January – by 14 percent and astonishing 23 percent compared to this time in the previous year.

The break -in follows the investigative reports of Le Monde Zeitung and Radio France, which revealed serious violations in Nestlé's water filling operations.

The Fallout was quick. While the bottle water sector lists a modest back rash overall – by 2.5 percent in early 2025 thanks to a milder spring – Perrier's decline is no longer able, especially with the rest of the market.

Consumers change brands

“This is not an industry-wide crisis,” said Christophe Lekieffre, General delegate of the syndicate of spring and natural mineral waters. “The market is growing again and consumers clearly switch to other brands.”

While still and sparkling water sales have dropped slightly in 2024, the wider market has not suffered approximately as much as Perrier.
