Newcastle loses another sports director than Mitchell to resign

Associated Press

Newcastle, England (AP) – Newcastle loses another sports director after the Premier League Club has announced that Paul Mitchell has resigned next month.

Mitchell only took over the position in July after the departure of Newcastles former sports director Dan Ashworth after Manchester United.

Mitchell left “for health reasons” and his departure “was through mutual approval,” said Saudi -controlled Newcastle on Tuesday.

At the beginning of this season there were reports of tensions between Mitchell and Newcastle Manager Eddie Howe.

Newcastle won the English League Cup in March for its first large domestic stream for 70 years and finished fifth in the Premier League to qualify for the Champions League of the next season.

“The club is in great hands on and off the field,” said Mitchell, “and is in a fantastic position to continue building.

“I want everyone to contact Newcastle United a bright and successful future.”

Mitchell previously worked for Tottenham, Leipzig and Monaco.
