A rental car exploded on the holiday weekend in the middle of a residential area in Illinois – and somehow the driver only escaped minor injuries.

The shocking video, which was recorded on Saturday morning in the Chicago suburb of Addison, IL, has become viral on social media. The breathtaking film material shows that the truck makes a residential street down before suddenly bursting up.

According to WGN, the driver escaped with only minor injuries. According to reports, four houses were damaged in the explosion. The local authorities announced WGN that the explosion was caused by a leaky propane tank in the truck.

The authorities added that the explosion was considered an accident – since they found no signs of suspicious activities that caused the explosion.
